Fiction and Computer Games on Space Habs

Mike's stuff is quite good. My lottery ticket didn't win Saturday,
but Mike is still on my list of folks to contact if the numbers ever
line up right (movie rights and stuff). In particular, I think that
Combs' Disigning Paradise could be combined with O'Neill's 2081 to
make quite an interesting feature-length film. It would be Wendell
Drake, from the distant past rather than Eric Rawson, from the
distant Kuiper Belt who toured Earth for a look at the end of the
21st Century, and the space flight would come at the end rather than
the beginning.

If Paramount will ever get up off of their buttocks and make those
movies that they have the rights to, you will likely be seeing many,
many Mars games. But they won't really be Mars, they will be Edgar
Rice Burroughs' Barsoom. Not the sort of hard science fiction that
you are looking for.

Mack Reynolds wrote three books with Dean Ing: The Lagrangists,
Lagrange Five, and Terror at Lagrangia. Ben Bova wrote a book called
Colony. Babalon 5 has a sort of Bernal Sphere thing going. There
was a 3-D IMAX movie called L-5: First City in Space. The other
thing I want to do with my winnings is to get the technical training
needed to make video/computer games with High Frontier themes.
