Settlement/Pow sat./Space Elevator @ Geosynronous orbit

An interest idea came over me a few days:

When we build an andvanced space elevator (in the
future after space elevators/space settlement are
common). The teather's end could become a space
settlement (Standford torus). A solar power stattlite
(SPS) would be adapted to fit into between the torus
and elevator shaft.

I am not sure if it is feastable, but if it is, then
it would have the advantage of being haveing workers
present 24/7 to repair the elevator/pow sat. But there
also the problem of an elevator failure...

Just a thought.
