Satellite servicing

A comment about Hubble's demise:

"The problem is that there are a couple of subsystems that are likely to suffer enough failures in the next few years to stop science operations. As mentioned in several articles, the two big ones are the gyroscopes and the batteries. In particular, HST is already down to four of six gyros and currently needs three to do science. .. I think the widespread belief here is that it's either the shuttle or nothing. The HST was designed to be serviced by shuttle orbiters; I don't think the new human spacecraft will be ready before the telescope is down to one or two gyros...nor is the new spacecraft likely to be designed for servicing low earth orbit satellites." -- Philip Sloss

The problem with non-LaGrange orbits (ie. LEO) is that sinking sensation. Will orbiting satellites be serviced?

Or are these artificial falling stars?
