We all want to fly into space, to the Moon, Mars and beyond, because
we are dreamers and explorers at heart. We also realise that, as it
was with air travel, from small beginnings a great industry will
spring up, in which we can all take part and benefit.

I have been fascinated by space travel almost as long as I can
remember, but it is only recently that I have come to see that, if I
do nothing more than read the magazines, look at the websites and
take part in discussions, then, at best I will only be able to stand
and watch things happen, with increasing feelings of frustration.
Talk and reading are free, but they achieve nothing worthwhile. for
that, money is needed and there is no escaping it.

Now, I'm trying to make a difference and I can see how to do it. Like
the rest of us, I guess, I am not a millionnaire, and cannot found a
space programme from scratch. However, what a millionnaire can do,
can also be done by a large enough body of people all contributing
their few dollars-worth, and they will all have the satisfaction of
having taken part, and may even benefit from it.

I have set up a website for just this purpose, the Spacefleet
Project, at http://www.spacefleet.org.uk. I have also set up a
company to direct projects, and I have negotiated with another
company that has the designs for a people-carrying space-plane. All
they need is the funding and a start can be made. When Spacefleet has
an an income from space tourism the business can then be taken as far
as our imaginations run. I intended Spacefleet to be a worldwide
effort, to cut across all political, national and ethnic divisions.
If you agree with all this, then please go to the Spacefleet site and
make yourself, your hopes and your ideas known.
