Mars is a proposition that has absolutely no hope of developing an
economy. It will simply be a money pit. If High Frontier can't make
a go of it on an economic basis, then Mars settlement is as much
fantasy as talking with the dead.

It has just been days since a Mars Rover dug a few inches into the surface
of Mars. Face it, we do not know what is there. How many years has Earth
been explored? And we are still looking.

You and I know of nothing valuable there. But that certainly does not mean
there is nothing there.

Transportation costs will rule against anything unprocessed or heavy.

But the present basis of computer chips is sand (silicon) with slight
impurities.
