Problem to be spacist is very different. For the Earth we can talk
about evolution but not for the space. May be we should call it meta-
evolution.

Rather than being a continuation of biological evolution through natural
selection, it would be a continuation of the process whereby the human
technical capability to modify one's immediate surroundings has enabled us
to colonize regions outside of Africa.

In contrast to O'Neill, Dyson foresees a more biological adaptation taking
place enabled by genetic engineering. But even that would not be natural
selection, more like self-directed biological evolution.
