Closest ever Asteroid will pass us this evening

My wife's grand-mother may argue that point, she insists that her house
was destroyed (along with her neighbor's house, Mr-T Rex) by an
asteroid-type object in the prime of her life. Judging how old she is,
that would place this impact for 65 million years ago.

So its not the closest ever ;-)

Unfortunately, I don't have pictures, videos or links to offer the
group, you folks are going to have to take my grand-mother-in-law's word
for it.

She also says she invented paint and the wheel, not sure about those...

"The asteroid's close flyby, first spied late Monday, poses no risk,
NASA astronomers stressed."

OK, that's within geosynchronous orbit and they just detected the
damn thing on Monday!

"The asteroid, 2004 FH, was expected to make its closest approach at
5:08 p.m. EST, streaking over the southern Atlantic Ocean. It should
be visible through binoculars to stargazers across the southern
hemisphere, as well as throughout Asia and Europe, said astronomer
Steve Chesley, also of JPL."

Well all you lucky buggers in Brazil (Lucio) better give us a good
report. LOL.
