General observation (on Planetary Chauvanists vs. O'Neillians)

There's a lot of talk going on from the different camps about how one side
has no exploratory spirit, or how habitats are boring, yadda yadda...

The real cusp of the issue is this. We have six billion people on Earth,
there's a massive global economy, new opportunities for entrepaneurship
opening up every day (though it's circling the bowl right now). There's no
reason to think that, given the massive returns involved, that all these
ideas might eventually get tried out.

Exploring other planets is a given, even if we don't ever live there or
exploit them for commerce. That can grow out of the progress of space
development. I can't believe that space theorists need to be reminded of
this, but we need to stay grounded (heh) in one underlying premise.

NONE of the plans proposed exclusively prohibits or precludes the others.
So the opposition doesn't need to be there. Chill. We can do both.
