What does the recessing do to the shape of the pressure vessel?

How much extra load bearing force does the water exert? How deep is
the water?

How much light attentuation is results from the layer of water?

I think it would certainly be an interesting effect, to look up and
see a sun shimmering through a lake. To dive down and for the light to
get brighter. To dive to the bottom, put your face against the glass
and look into the abyss of space. More practically, it does solve a
space problem quite neatly, but as you see from my questions above, my
concerns are centered on the engineering.

Quite a creative vision.
