Tango,

The amount of publicity the US allows for cases that are still before
the courts always amazes me, certainly you need to be able to report the
crime but were does the it change from informing the public to voyeurism
to polluting the potential jury? Here there are no cameras in the court
and it is unheard of to have the kind of coverage some of your cases do,
in the rare case that this looks like happening the judge slaps down a
gag order and that's it, no more until the case is finished, in fact,
one judge in Victoria wanted to have a camera in his court for one day
to allow one case to be shown (he wanted kids to see the outcome of
really stupid behaviour) there was a huge public discussion of if it
should be allowed, in the end it was his court so he got his way.

I imagine that in the first Habitat that things might be relatively
peaceful for a long stretch of time but then one day there will be a
crime of passion and I'm willing to bet that the OJ and Scott Peterson
publicity will be nothing compared to that first murder in space.

How many of you believe that it will be more like the "High Noon"
"Outland" corrupt town vision? Brutal work camps building stuff in
orbit.

Sigh, innocence lost. We can't completely escape from human nature.
