something else to consider is that a good spot to launch would be the
andies moutain range. one of the tallest (sorry, lost the name) is
about 1 degree south of the equator. it is the farthest point from
the center of the earth on the surface of the earth. (taller
mountains are farther from the equator. the equator bulge causes this
mountain to be farther even thought its closer to sea lvl.) this
would be a major advantage as it would get the biggest gain from the
rotation of the earth. at that altitude the atmospheric pressure
would be about 25 percent less, allowing for easier passage though
the air, and less of a thermal problem. the disadvantage is that it
would have less oxigen for the engine
