There needs to be a continuously expanding, growing, and thriving
mining community closely following the near asteroid's orbit and once
things get going there's no reason to expect otherwise.

We need to always consider and market test ideas and opportunities as
they arise for space products and services and develop a thick catalog
of offers for earth and space residents, businesses, and governmental
interests. Space tourism, a earth-lunar L5 facility, ...

I think an asteroid would be the best starting point for serious space
development.
