wastewater treatment

the recycling of waste water is a used practice in
situation with lack of water.
I built many resorts in the RED sEA.
in that case the following was the water cycle
specifications
1-get water from the sea to a desalination plant
2-desalinated water utilized by primary human
functions (washing etc)
3-"clean" ( non toilet) water reutilized in toilets
4-toilet water sent to treatment plant and :
a-treated water utilized for plant irrigation
b-solid wastes treated and utilized as fertilizer
such a system with the needed upgrades will certainly
work in a space settlement saving and reutilizing a
precious element

Savage said that the end results of this SCC process

CO2, which would be piped directly to the
greenhouses

and a nitrate ash, which he said would be used as
fertilizer

I think his notion was that we don't need to provide
the plants with
large, complex molecules. We break wastewater down to
small, simple
molecules, and then it become the plants' job to build
them up into
large, complex molecules once again.

I assume there would be some kind of sedimentation
process to remove
grit and bits of metal rust and other such junk.
