FAQ?

Perhaps I'm just incredibly naive, but it seems to me that
a space colony would have a much greater reason to keep up
with minor maintenance than a terrestrial city.
Self-preservation is a strong motivator, and a poorly
maintained space colony could easily be fatal for all
concerned. If a pothole is not fixed, it is not likely to
lead to the deaths of everyone in the town. Maybe people
would become complacient, but I would think that a minor
space accident every decade or so would remind people of
the dangers of space.
