Mining Asteroids

Without gravity, we have to make it ourselves.

Yes, simple earth's gravity (1G) is often used in many distillation and
refining processes but let's not forget that earth's chemists and lab
scientists use spinning test tubes to quickly get the result they want..
it's much faster than waiting for earth's gravity to do it's work.

In space, we use forces we creat ourselves via spinning, rotating,
propulsion, harpooning, and rapid impacting.

In a geosynchronous orbit over the mining site, we remote operate the
drilling and mining equipment.

EVA's would rarely happen. Mechanical arms would retrieve damaged equipment
and robotics for internal repair, creative/emergency work, or upgrading.

Should an EVA be needed, the important thing is for the person(s) to be
tethered to the craft - not the asteroid. It's likely the person would be
strapped, or safely secured, to the craft or its mechanical arm.
