Space colonization as a 'safety valve'

Shortly after the news broke of ABBA turning down an offer of a
Billion dollars to reform for a one year tour, I read an account of
their decision, back as their fame started to take-off, to purposely
stay in Sweden rather than become tax-exiles, like Bjorn Borg. I
figure that decision probably cost the group a couple of hundred
million dollars.
