We can probably all agree that use of space resources for volatiles
re-supply only even starts to make sense at the space hotel stage.
Ditto CELSS. I remember reading where someone was citing a study
suggesting that closed systems only start to make gains over re-supply
if the facility in question needs to be run longer than 7 years (or
something like that). They then pointed out that most hotels are built
with an assumption of use in excess of 7 years. So space hotels might
pioneer in both of these areas which are of interest to us.
