Population of O'Neill cylinder

As a minor point, anyone who really *really* can't live without regular
doses of red meat is either too mentally or physically unfit to get into
space in the first place. In space, livestock is a luxuary, not in anyway a
basic requirement. If we're talking about 'need' then we don't need
livestock. If you really truely cannot do without meat, you don't need light
for that and hence do not need area. Growth of meat is a chemical process
and can be done in the dark. Preferably in an invetro process which is less
vaulnerable to contamination, and is much more space efficient.

Constant sunlight would also halve the area for a conventional fams in half,
because the plants would grow constantly, not just half the time. In low
gravity plants could grow bigger, and might reduce it still further. There
appear to be 54 farm cylinders in the artists impression, each one just
short of 1km across, and about half that deep. This would equate an extra
85km of land per cylinder.

I think some typos and general confusion might be at the route of all this.

A cylinder 6.5km wide and 32km long has a an internal area of ~250miles^2 or
650km^2 but not 400km^2 (windows or not) as the Space Settlement FAQ says.
