My point is that there is no conspiracy. It's just that Pilgims
aren't moving product.

I haven't heard of this. And besides, I didn't say that having shows
about Pilgrims makes the stock market fall. I just said that
Pilgrims (or so Madison Avenue seems to think) don't sell anymore.

Why would they do that? Did they all get together somewhere and
say, "Look, this is going to cost us millions, but we MUST avoid
Pilgrims, the Mayflower, and all the rest of that. We just have to
eat the loss. After all, it isn't all about making money." But
isn't it?

The Charlie Brown Thanksgiving Secial ran this year, and there was
talk (from Linus, at least) about Plymouth Rock and Miles Standish
and such. I think Snoopy even dressed as a Pilgrim. I've already
mentioned the Macy's Parade.

I had thought about an "It's a Wonderful L5" type of thing, but your
idea might also work. No reason not to do both.

I might use it. I might make comparisons to Plymouth Rock, the
Polynesians populating Hawaii, and the Chinese Emporer, all those
years ago, cancelling their ocean exploration efforts.
