Consider that the 'big AI breakthrough' has been a 'near future advance' for
the past thirty year or so. If it happens, that will be nice. But then
again, so would flying cars, limitless clean cheap energy, and world peace.
If Japanese plans to market household robots succeed, then this may change,
as few things fuel advancement as much as profits, but I'm not holding my
breath. ;)
