naw, it due to the woeful wooing skills of today's guys mesmerized by satellite sports TV.
with additional appliances and baby watching systems to make caring for kids easier, there may be a gradual change back to wanting the luxury of offspring.
especially if there were tax advantages to being more plentiful.

At least in the early colonies, it is very likely that everyone, including
the women, will be technically well trained and probably pretty independent.
In any case, even in Africa, the Mid-East, and (I believe) Latin America
birth rates are falling rapidly. I'm not sure, but I presume this is due
to an improvement in the status of women in general.
