I believe, Robert, your sources of information are old by now.
In Latin America, for example, the baby boom is already gone. The
same is happening around the world. Even in Africa there are signs
of declining of fertility.

What's happening, Robert, is something you don't see. Most of world
population was made of farmers in the past. Today, most people is
moving to cities. That already happened in Latin America, and is
happening in India, China and Africa right now as well.

Now, for people of the countryside to have children is to have money
in the bank. They help their parents in the agricultural works and
also serve like social security for the times they get old. In the
cities kids are very expensive to mantain and to educate. So it is
logical people reduce the fertility because that environment is
hostile to large families.

As the matter of fact, throughout history, city people have had a
lot less kids than the people of the countryside. In the past, that
did not matter because most people lived outside cities. Today is
the opposite and people is addapting to those new conditions.
