several threads to respond in this one.
seen that does not include many of the things that a long term
enjoyment of life. as pointed out, that is enough for someone to
survive, but "man does not live on bread alone" could also apply to
space habitat envirments.
2) likely there would have to have back up systems if the primary
system was damaged. i imagine the primary would be bio, while the
backup would be mechanical. the swimming/fishing area would be well
upstream of the final clean water system. the bio products of the
fish, and 'kids accidents' and some of the other problems that will
be on a beach, will actually be benifcial to the plants that are
downstream. the plants (simular to wet lands plants) would be very
good at removing dead cells, oils and such. the problem with using
strickly bios is that they can mutate into things that are useless
for the job or worse. no matter how many back ups you have the system
would have to have segragate systems, ie. each section would have its
own recycling system, instead of a single one.
3)birds and other animals would likely have their own lvls, where ppl
could go and walk amoung them (the ones that were safe for that and
walk through caged areas in other animals habitats). this would keep
the risk of animal to human disease tranmission down. it would also
remove any risk of animal parts contaminating the water supply in
other area.
4)cooking would almost all be electric, possible with some hydrogen
cooking for areas that required flame. the hydrogen would be created
nearby so there would be little risk of gas leaks. rare wood burning
would be planned for.
