how do they get supersonic water for cutting metal?

wouldn't the "head of water" be much greater than any possible friction?

why don't you send in your sofa loose change and we can try it out. Has as much potential for success as some of the other ideas... and at worst we get a nice water fountain display better than the Bellagio in Las Vegas..
