gravity field, zero G, or more accurately micro G, is still not a place for
full time habitation, there is some research to indicate that there are
developmental problems for embryos, you might not have a second generation.
It is just simpler to use spin to stand in for gravity but of course all
this is based on the supposition that "spin gravity" will in fact be able to
be used. I can not see any reason why it wouldn't work for normal day to day
situations but it could be that some subtle effect will cause problems
during pregnancy, we need a lot more research. There was a proposal for an
experiment with mice in orbit, in a spinning capsule, simulating Mars
gravity, does anybody know if it is still going ahead?
