Job: I work for Sanmina Canada, operating a bunch of robots that
assemble surface mount printed circuit boards

Net-based startup: currently interim project manager of the
QuantumCAD project for Quanteq LLC; a program that marries CAD,
molecular dynamics and isosurface simulations, and CAM functions.
(primary use for v1.0: web-based nanotech design; v2.0: protein
folding)

Fun: I have spent the last 9 years building an autonomous robot,
writing all its software (including a new computer language, FUNGAL),
designing the printed circuit boards, building several versions of
the body, etc. Look out: autonomous snakebots are coming your way.

Oh yeah, and I spend a ton of time in the Fountain_Society
yahoogroup; mailgroup that focusses on political, religious, ethical,
and social implications of emergent technologies such as AI,
nanotech, cryostasis, mind-uploading, genetic engineering, life-
extension technology, etc. - all those topics that are the bane of
the hard-science lists. It's only been around for 9 or 10 weeks, and
already has 130 members and over 1800 messages posted.
