it would sure take a lot of computing to work out the details, but the
main point is, it would be better to allow a few small nuclear size
hits which would not kill everyone, than to allow one hit that would
take out the entire human race. man could recover from a loss of our
civilization, even if we were knocked back to the stone age, but we
would not be able to survive a hit like the one in south america.
