Does anybody remember the days, way back before the WWW, when Senator
Proxmire was constantly drawing the ire of space buffs? This would
be, I guess, the early 80's. An article from Omni Magazine suggested
using clarified butter (!) as rocket fuel. Alcohol got in there too,
somehow. The author had visions of farmer marching on Washington to
demand Mars missions. It was all a bit tongue-in-cheek, but I'd sure
like to read it again.
