Add to your Summer Reading List: Two Novels Regarding Apollo Missions That Never Flew!!!!

I happen to know Shane Johnson's family (I worked with his wife), and have
read some of his non-scifi work. The one I saw was of the Left Behind
variety, an action-adventure story for people who believe in Biblical
Inerrancy, set in some of the strange worlds that the books of Genesis and
Revelations would mandate if you take them literally. Shane and Kathy are
really nice people, and I've broadened my faith somewhat by what they've
taught me along the way. But I'm not a believer in BI the way they practice
it, and I too find this juxtaposition a little jarring.

Just know that some people think that way, and that he's actually a pretty
good writer, if you can just get over the assumptions he starts from. Hey,
summer reading is for broadening your horizons, right?
