Can high-tech cavemen live on the Moon?

NASA and other groups do plenty of valuable small scale, short term
experiments, but until we get large numbers of people living out
there for long periods of time, we really can only guess the extent
of the problems they may face. Even with the high costs, I think
larger scale expeditions could pay off quicker, just in the amount of
logistical experience they give us. Plus they would have the
advantages of redundancy, and built in rescue capability should a
critical problem arise. But then again, I'm not the one signing the
check........
