Getting paid in space

I'll stick with Dollars and Cents. It's a proven value system.

Personally, I believe until the colonies reach Island Two phase, cash
won't exist among space islands. People will buy and sell things
through the Debit Card system. It will be the modern version of the
old company store.

There might be a return to some bartering.

Manufacturing special paper and Printing money takes extra resources.
Shipping it up from the earth takes space on shuttles and heavy lift
launch vehicles.
