Douglas,

Just a bit of clarification, I wasnt advocating any kind of energy trading,
with one station selling energy to another station, rather a kind of fiat
currency such as we have today but rather than an actual fiat currency with
the total value of the government issued currency being whatever the
government of the day deciding it was going to be and with them able to
print more money whenever it suited them, the currency is linked to the
energy consumption of the economy, this being a very good indicator of the
strength of the economy, you could only increase the money supply when your
economy is really expanding or is about to expand (you are building more
generators because you need them). It is a way of placing a constraint on
money supply without it being tied to the amount of metal you have or at the
other end of the scale being what the government says it is. There would be
a lot of detail that need to be worked out but I think it would make a good
standard.
