much smaller. Of course smaller is a relative term, I was talking about a
cylinder 2,500 in radius and 15,000 Km long, this gives you about the land
surface of the Earth (give or take) and then you could expand it by having a
large axle with multiple cylinders on it (an even number counter-rotating of
course), with such a large radius you could leave the centre open to space
and that opens other possibilities.
A true ring-world, I think Ill leave that until I get some real magic as
per Arthur C Clarke.

The problem is also in dismantling Jupiter to have
enough material to build the thing (assuming you mean
one the size of the Ringworld).
