Mike,
would be a very important function, Im wondering about the way the ring is
held together, Ian Woollard has raised an issue that needs to be looked at.
I have always considered that the walls would function as support for the
ring floor and now it may be more important than I first thought.

Yeah, I'm ready to go along with the idea of 200 km walls. It occurs to
me that what's acceptable over a few decades can become totally
unacceptable over a few millennia; and if we're going to build at this
scale, we might as well figure on building for the millennias.
