I can think of two structures of similar size that might interest
you: SkyDome in Toronto, with its retractable roof; and the
Saddledome in Calgary, with its hyperbolic lines...
There is also the Millennium Dome (http://greenwich2000.com/millennium/) in
London. It is the world's biggest dome, with a diameter of 320 m. According
to the assumptions in my previous message, a floating city covered with a
dome this size would have enough water from rain to sustain more than 1,500
people - not counting recycling...
