I'm not so certian. Remember, it is largely a Hollywoodism that humans
become *completely* helpless in more than 1G. If anyone has ever seen a
soldier run 20 miles with a backpack that weighs as much as they do - that
almost proves humans can function in twice gravity with almost no ill
effects. Until they fall at least...

A couple of years back Disney started operating a theme-park centrifuge at
Epcot in Florida, in which passengers had to reach forward to press buttons
in front of them. It was initially designed for 3G for periods of up to a
minute which a healthy human (without back or heart or obesity trouble)
could withstand. They had to tone it down after a while, but mostly because
of motion sickness, not because people were unable to lift their arms in the
3G enviroment.

Health enthusiasts woudl also maximise their body to the best of human
capacity, which wouldn't be much different from human capacity on Earth. I'm
sure luna marines coudl manage a trip to earth even if noone else could.
