Aliens need a lot motime to find us

I would agree that many would, but can we be certain that they ALL
would? Would even generational ships taking a century or so to reach
their target necessarily have drives that "bright"?

Yes, but I was responding to ANTIcarrot's three numbered points. In my
story, the ETs were, for one reason or another, seemingly content to
share the solar system with us. But ANTIcarrot's three points suggest
that they might instead be more likely to try and prevent us from making
it out of our cosmic cradle, to prevent us from using up resources they
might have need of in the future.

Yes, I think some of us have been arguing that's a possibility which we
need to remain open-minded to.
