Could we be one of the OLDEST civilizations in the galaxy?

But I think one of the implications of the subject of this maillist is
that starships might come closer to resembling Island One than the
Enterprise. In which case multigenerational voyages might not be viewed
as a significant deprivation.

Which establishes that interstellar travel may never be like what we see
in Star Trek. However, none of this rules out interstellar migrations.
And such migrations are what we're talking about.
