The UK could have a reusable cheap reliable rocket for about five or ten
billion pounds; less than a third of what it would cost to replace trident
or about a 1/100th of what it spends on the NHS each year. That would of
course mean risk though, which the UK government seems averse to at present.
Unless the risk involves Iraq of course. It would also require imagination
and long term thinking, which all governments seem adverse to at present.
