Then the question boils down to what is
Intelligence. Inter (between) + legere (to choose
or read). My Rumba vacuum cleaner could do this.

Perhaps a better word, suggested by Dr. Timothy Leary,
Contelligence (conscious intelligence) is more what
we are looking for here. I recall some childs toy in
the 80s or 90s that claimed to have an insect brain
making basic decisions (or did I dream it?). With
advances in genetics perhaps we will see a true
android with a conscious. I will keep an open mind,
but am not holding my breath just yet.

In my line of business, there is hardly any assumption
that one could make about limits of technology,
without someone chiming in Thats what the NSA wants
you to think! They have some incredible tools. All
I can say matter of factly is that I have not seen any
evidence of any computer on the horizon that displays
what I would call a conscious. Truth be told, I see
very little of it in most people (self included ;-)
