That was what made me skeptical. Several of the Apollo astronauts slept in hammocks in the LM. It seemed to me if that figure was right, then we would have heard stories of them saying they lost all perception of up and down when they closed their eyes to sleep.

I suspect either the number cited is wrong, or we're misinterpreting their phrasing.

Waited to see the response of others to what could be misapplied research but didn't see any. The statement that inner ear perceptions of up and down were lost at 0.5 g seems correct for the test but wrong when you can properly stand or sit for a while.

Does the Apollo astronauts make statements about not knowing up from down in 0.165 g?
