The million-passenger spaceship mentioned in this thread reminds me of
Harlan Ellison's 1973 "The Starlost" TV show. It starred the actor who
played Dave Bowman in "2001: A Space Odyssey".

Ellison's earthship "Ark" carried 1/2 million.

In the short term, we need to encourage space tourism and the building
of space hotels. Those hotels can later be developed into spaceships.
