If you live in the tropics dusk and dawn are practically non-existant, so
the psychological effect would depend on if you were used to having dusk and
dawn. I found it very strange experiencing Christmas in the middle of
summer when I lived in New Zealand. You get used to it. No, I don't think
dusk and dawn are necessary.
